Mr. Donald Jean Stewart, age 88 of Ellijay, passed away on February 26, 2021. He was born September 17, 1932, to his late parents, Homer Edward and Nora Estell (Bradley) Stewart in Gainesville GA. Donald was a member of the Ellijay Seventh Day Adventist Church. He served honorably as a Frogman, underwater demolition, in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a career brick mason, in the construction industry. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Wendell Stover officiating. Music provided by Gabrielle Cornett. Military honors will follow at the Logan Funeral Home pavilion, by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Gainesville, GA. Donald is survived by his wife of 41 years, JoRene Hughey Stewart, of the home in Ellijay, GA. Daughter and son-in-law; Emily and Guy Simon, SR., Beaumont, TX., Sons and daughters-in-laws; Gene and Kathy Stewart, Houston, TX., Kevin and Mary Stewart, Suwanee, GA., Donald Karroll Stewart, Kyle Bradley Stewart, step-daughters; Cheryl (Gary) Becks, Ellijay, GA., Phyllis Keenan, Osborn, ID., step-sons; Harold (Nancy) Guthrie, McAllen, TX., Christian Schell, Ellijay, GA., sister; Patricia Stewart Davis, Clarksville, GA., brother, James Coy Stewart, Ellijay, GA., 20 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends Monday evening, March 1, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Logan Funeral Home & Chapel.
