Donald "Gary" May, age 73 of Ellijay, GA. passed away Thursday, September 7th, 2023. Gary was born on April 30th, 1950, in Ellijay, GA to his late parents Bernard Dale May and Reatha Mae Tankersley May. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Ellijay, Ga., and a Gilmer County High School graduate of the class of 1968. He honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1973 in the Vietnam War. Gary is preceded in death by his brothers Alan May and Ronald May, as well as Sister-in-law Gail Harper May.

Survivors include Sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Jess Posey of Ellijay, GA. Sister-in-law Tracy Hurd of Gainesville, GA. Special friend Mable Hayes, daughter Michelle Reatha May Mack of Augusta, GA. and three grandchildren Caleb, Abigail, and Cody, as well as three great-grandchildren, Aunts and Uncles Jean T. Woodring and Newell and Alice May Ellijay, Ga., as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 9th, 2023, from 1-3 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 9th, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. At the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jess Posey officiating. Interment will be held at The Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Ga. on September 13th, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.
