Donald Lee Chancey, age 80 of Cherrylog, GA passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023. Donald was born February 13, 1943, in Cherrylog, GA to his late parents Joseph "Joe" William and Eunice Inez (Chapman) Chancey. Donald graduated from West Fannin High School in 1961. Donald was a member of the Boardtown Church of Christ. Donald worked for the Tennessee Chemical company for over 30 years. Donald is preceded in death by his brother Lanier Chancey, and son-in-law Eric Meissner.

Donald is survived by his wife of 59 years Mary Alice (Hughes) Chancey, Cherrylog, GA, daughter Debbie Meissner, Clarksville, TN, son Danny (Wanda) Chancey, Cherrylog, GA, grandchildren Brittney (Michael) Pittman, Brandon (Lorrie) Meissner, Derick Meissner, Billy Chancey, Hannah Chancey, Lance Duncan, great-grandchildren Mallory Pittman, Brantley Pittman, Mason Pittman, Katie Meissner, Kennedy Meissner, Lincoln Meissner, Logan Meissner, brother and sister in law Dovell (Pattie) Chancey, Sevierville, TN, sister in laws Linda Goddard, Brenda Whaley, and sister in law and brother in law Betty (Jim) Burnette all of Blue Ridge, GA and several nieces and nephews survive.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. The funeral service will be Sunday, May 7, 2023, at 3:00 pm with Min. Justin Mason, Min. Tommy Kyle, and Min. David Mullins officiating. The interment will be at the Boardtown Church of Christ Cemetery. Jamie Weaver, Terry Fowler, Nathan Chancey, Brandon Meissner, Derick Meissner, Adam Weaver, Cody Bearden, and Lance Duncan serving as pallbearers.
