Deryl Leon Griggs, age 77 of Ellijay, Georgia passed from his life here on earth to his new life in Heaven on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. He was born September 30, 1943, to William "Bill" Griggs and Mildred Lou Key Griggs. Deryl was a lifelong resident of the Whitepath community. He attended Temple Baptist Church in Morganton, GA and served his country honorably in the US Army. Deryl is survived by his wife Marilyn Ward Griggs, daughter and son in law Cheryl Griggs Norton and Greg Norton, Ellijay, GA, sons and daughters in law Greg and Penny Griggs, Ellijay, GA, Chris Griggs and Katy Baxter, Ellijay, GA, grandchildren Whitley Norton Grizzle (Nathan Grizzle), Zach Norton, Alley Norton Lance (Carson Lance), Jonas Griggs, Ashtyn Griggs, Madison Griggs Carter (Isaac Carter), great-grandchildren Rhett Lance, Brantley Carter and nieces. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 27th, 2021 at 3 p.m. at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Dr. Roger Beck and Greg Norton officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 26th from 4 - 8 p.m and from 2 - 3 p.m on Sunday, June 27th at Logan Funeral Home.
