Derek Wayne Hunter Vanover, age 27 of Ellijay, GA passed on Sunday, May 8, 2022. Derek was born on January 20, 1995, in Dalton, GA to his parents Larry Wayne Vanover and Katherine Elizabeth (Hunter) O'Donnell. Derek was a member, deacon, and the church clerk for Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church in Blue Ridge, GA. Derek graduated in 2013 from Gilmer High School. Derek was also employed at Mark Chastain Surveying Company in Ellijay. Survivors include his wife Shyan Brook Vanover, Ellijay, GA, children Magnolia Rose Vanover, and Titan Hunter Vanover of the home, Father Larry Wayne (Louise) Vanover, Ellijay, GA, Mother Katherine Elizabeth (David) O'Donnell, Ellijay, GA, sister Kelsey (Nate) Carpenter, Morganton, GA, brothers Dustin (Shyanne) Vanover, Ellijay, GA, Dawson Vanover, Ellijay, GA, Blake Roberts, Ellijay, GA, grandparents Joe (Eudell) Vanover, Hazard, KY, Patsy Oliver, Hazard, KY, several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 11, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Elder David Smith officiating. Larry Vanover, Dustin Vanover, Dawson Vanover, Jordan Ingram, Nolan Peterson, II, Nathanial Carpenter, Joseph Hunter, Nate Carpenter, and Blake Roberts serving as pallbearers.
