Mr. David Willard Ralston, age 81 of the Cartecay Community, Ellijay, GA, passed from this life Thursday, September 2nd, 2010 from the Gilmer Nursing Facility. Born April 27th, 1929 to his late parents George and Donzie Weaver Ralston, in Ellijay, GA, member of Macedonia Baptist Church for 56 years, a graduate of Gilmer High School, class of 1947, taught school at Bucktown, elected Clerk of Court in Gilmer County serving for 28 years and member of Oak Bowery Masonic Lodge #81. Survivors include wife of 57 years, Ernestine Pettit Ralston of the home in Ellijay, GA.; sons and daughters-in-law David and Jane Ralston of Blue Ridge, GA., Wendelll & Joy Ralston of Alpharetta, GA., George and Kim Ralston of Ellijay, GA., Dennis & Chrisse Ralston of Ellijay, GA., Steve Ralston of Ellijay, GA.; grandchildren Elizabeth, Sarah, Carly, Matt, Ben, Garrett, Will and Noah Ralston; brother and sisters-in-law Hobert and Charlene Ralston of Ellijay, Ga., Jeanette Stanley Ralston of Ellijay, GA. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 5th, 2010 from the Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Burt, Rev. Michael Cantrell and Rev. Mickey Wheeler. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wallace Anderson, Glen Banks, Hubert Parker, Winston Cantrell, Joey Ralston and Mark Ralston. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ralston grandchildren. Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 117 River Lane, Ellijay, GA. 30536, in memory of Mr. Ralston. Family will receive friends Saturday, September 4th, 2010 beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Logan Funeral Home and Chapel. Family requests no food be brought to the funeral home.
