Mr. Clyde A. White, age 88, of Ellijay, Georgia, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, Georgia.

Mr. White was born on February 4, 1938, in St. Petersburg, Florida, to the late Barney and Harriet Benn White. Clyde was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ellijay and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. He was a man that knew his priorities: God, Family, Helping others, fishing and sharing a meal together. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Ellen Marie White, their son, Kenneth White and 8 siblings.

Clyde is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Marianne and Gene Evans; daughter-in-law, Debbie White; His cherished grandchildren, Ashley Rowden and her husband, Jason; Zachary Evans and his wife, Kristina and Aaron Evans; great-grandchildren, Peyton Rowden and Grant Evans; dear friend, Doris Mann. He is also survived by several sisters and brothers In-Law as well as nieces and nephews. 

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at First United Methodist Church of Ellijay, with the Rev. Dr. Tommy Green and the Rev. Dr. Mike Shearon officiating. Military honors will be provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard.Inurnment will take place at a later date at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in Clyde’s memory.
