Mr. Chick Martin Key, age 69 of Ellijay, Georgia passed on Monday, February 2, 2015, at Chatuge Regional Hospital in Hiawassee, Georgia. Born December 23, 1945 in Ellijay, Georgia, he was the son of the late Martin Van Buren Key and the late Denia Fain Key. He was a graduate of Gilmer High School and retired with Delta Airlines. He served honorably as a SGT in the Air Force from 1964 until 1968. Chick is preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Underwood, Ellen McClelland, brothers, Johnny Key, Hertis Key, Charles Key, Phil Key and Roy Key. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa "Birdie" Smith of Cherry Log, GA, brother and sister-in-law, Kert and Dorothy Key of Kingston, GA, sisters and brother-in-law, Bernetta Trammell of Blue Ridge, GA and Diane and Rev. Johnny Pinson of Ellijay, GA. A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday February 5th, 2015 at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Min. Butch Jones officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant "Buckhorn" Baptist Church Cemetery with Rodney Key, Randy Key, Gary Cochran, Mitch Pinson, Jeffrey Pinson and Marty Pinson serving as pallbearers.
