Charles Larry West, 81, of Senoia, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly February 9, 2023. He was born on

April 24, 1941, in East Ellijay, Georgia, to the late Newman West and Flora Mae Watkins West. He was a

1959 graduate of Gilmer High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Georgia State University in

1963.

Growing up in East Ellijay, Larry came to know the Lord as a young teen. He remained faithful to the Lord

throughout his life. He was an active member of First Baptist Church Peachtree City and Grace Sunday

School Class.

In 1967, Larry married the love of his life, Gail Foster West. They enjoyed 55 wonderful years together

rearing their two daughters, Angela Laurie West and Julie Carolyn West. Julie went to her heavenly

home in 1997.

Larry served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed

by Life Insurance Company of Georgia for 35 years and Lincoln Financial Insurance for 17 years, retiring

in 2015. In retirement, he and Gail enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family and friends.

Larry's favorite hobby was sports. He was a lifelong Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets fan and loved the

Atlanta Braves, through good times and not so good times.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Julie Carolyn West; his siblings, Jack West,

Carolyn West Billue, Jerry West, Vernon West, and recently deceased, Mack West. He is survived by his

loving wife, Gail Foster West; his daughter, Angela Laurie West (Ken Reed); grandchildren, Alana Julie

Williford and Dylan (Megan) Williford; siblings, Ronnie (Sue) West and Susan (Joe) West Winkler, as well

as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 13, 2023, at First Baptist Church

Peachtree City. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at

the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at The Rock Baptist Church Cemetery, Rex, GA.

Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Foster, Dylan Williford, Jason Hill, Carter Hill, Chris Foster, and Ken

Reed. Larry will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to First Baptist Church Peachtree City, 208 Willow
