Mr. Charles Edward Starks, age 87, of Ellijay, passed away on Friday, January 23rd, 2026.

Charles was born on April 1st, 1938, in Ellijay to the late Claude and Roma Craig Starks. Charles was of the Baptist faith and was well known in the Ellijay community as the proud owner of Starks' Chevron Station. He is preceded in death by brothers Grady "Bug" Starks and Jeff Starks; and sister Imogene Starks.

Survivors include wife of 65 years, Mrs. Mary Ruth Garland Starks, of Ellijay; son and daughter-in-law Michael Edward and Doris Starks of Ellijay; grandson Michael Christopher Starks and wife Kimberly, of Ellijay; sisters and brothers-in-law Ruby Nell Wright, Betty Sue Frady, Jessie and David Pierce, and Wanda and Philip Pankey, all of Ellijay; brother Bill Starks, brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Carol Garland of Ellijay; and sister-in-law Ruth Starks of Ellijay.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, January 29th, 2026, from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alan Davenport, Rev. Curtis Easley, and Rev. Jess Posey officiating. Special music will be by Regina Mathis.

Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers; Danny Frady, Alan Starks, Bob Wright, Herbert Wright, Jamie Pierce, Larry Starks, Eric Garland, and Greg Garland. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Henson, Lloyd Harris, Tim Starks, Theodore Hall, and Adam Hall.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 28th, 2026, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at the Logan Funeral Home.
