Bruce Robert Preston, Age 80 of Ellijay, passed on Tuesday September 8, 2020. Bruce was born on January 9, 1940 to his late parents Samuel and Emily (Thomasson) Preston in Guelph, Ontario. Bruce was a member of Good Samaritan Catholic Church, and was a Mechanical Engineer at Chrysler Missile Plant, Lockheed, and D.M. Weatherly Company. Bruce was a loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather. He is preceded in death by sister Diane Marcott, brother Dave Preston, one nephew. Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Sharon Hunsinger Preston, of the home, daughters and son-in-laws Kim Preston-Smith & Ted Smith, Powder Springs, GA, Heather & Don Clark, Holly Springs, GA, Lisa Cox, Ball Ground, GA, Jane and Bryan McBrayer Powder Springs, GA, Paige P. Smith, Emerson, GA, Sarah & Wayne Goff, Acworth, GA sons and daughter-in-laws Marty & Cris Preston, Smyrna, GA, Andy & Sherry Preston, Marietta, GA, Josh & Jennifer Preston, Acworth, GA , grandchildren Joe Freeman, Audrey Power, Hunter Smith, Austin Smith, Garret Preston, Tyler Smith, Chandler Smith, Zachery Smith, Connor Preston, Augusta Preston, Jonah Preston, Chase Goff, Dalton Preston, Luke McBrayer, Sophia Clark, Spencer Clark, Emma McBrayer, Jenna Preston, Sydney Goff, J. P. Smith. Ten great grandchildren, Sister Joan P. Holst, Lansdale, PA., and several nieces and nephews. A private family visitation will be held.
