Mr. Brian Frederick Wilder, age 63 of Ellijay, GA passed away Tuesday, August 1st, 2023 in Syracuse, NY while traveling.
Brian was born on May 2nd, 1960, in Canton, NY to his late parents Harold Wentworth Wilder and Barbara Jean Greig Wilder. He graduated from State University of New York at Brockport with a bachelor's degree in marketing and worked for many years with Surburban Lodges in the hotel industry, and was a member of Canton Methodist Church. Most recently Brian had worked as a Realtor, associate broker, and office manager for Mountain Aire Realty in Ellijay, GA. He started volunteering his time in 2009 serving on the MLS Committee and chaired this committee in 2017-2018. Served on the Professional Development committee 2010,2011,2014,2015,2016,2016,2017 and Chaired this committee for several years. He was a GAR Director in 2012-2013 He served on the Board of Directors as Treasurer in 2015 & 2016 and Vice President of Professional Development in 2019 &2020
In 2016 NEGA Board of Realtors Realtor of the Year.
Brian is preceded in death by his sister Nancy Wilder Palmateer, special friend, Joey Zinsser and adopted family member, Melvin Cowart.
Survivors include his sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane Wilder of Chelmford, MA and Susan Wilder and Jim Spilbor of Stormville, NY, Dan Palmateer of Canton, NY; nieces, nephews and spouses Julia Wall, Andrew Palmateer, Greig and Yelena Guluzian, and Justin and Kate Guluzian; godchild, Lizzie Archambault of Houston, TX; special adopted family members, Skip Cowart, Barry and Liz Cowart, and Donna and Barry Mousa also survive.
A memorial service to honor Brian will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, August 12th, 2023 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Smith officiating.
Family will receive friends at Logan Funeral Home from 11am until the service hour of 12 noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gilmer Food Pantry, P.O. Box 1982, Ellijay, GA 30540 or to the Friends of the Gilmer Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 1644, Ellijay, GA 30540 in memory of Brian Wilder.
Another memorial service will be held at a later date in Canton, NY.
