Mrs. Brenda Sue (Dale) Thurman, age 78 of Ellijay, GA passed away on Friday September 20th, 2024.
Mrs. Thurman was born on February 9th, 1946 in Ellijay, GA to the late Grady and Gladys (Gibson) Dale. She was a 1964 graduate of Gilmer High School, and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Sue worked as the secretary of Logan Funeral Home for 25 years before her retirement in 2020. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thurman; grandson, Patrick Thurman; sister, Linda Rogers; brother, J.T. Dale; sister-in-law, Bertha Davidson
Sue is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; Alisa and Jeff Bryant; son and daughter-in-law; Randall and Trish Thurman; grandchildren, Jake and Amanda Bryant and Hanna and Kevin Carter; great grandchildren, Samuel Bryant, baby Carter, and Brylee Cole; sister-in-law, Mazie Dale; brother-in-law, Butch Rogers; her best friend, Eulamae Elrod; special friends, Scott Logan, Chris Logan, Michael Smith, and Maci Kiker; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday September 22nd, 2024 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Long and Rev. Michael Smith officiating special singing will be by Kevin and Hanna Carter and Amanda Bryant.
Interment will follow in the Flat Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with Jake Bryant, Kevin Carter, Jody Rogers, Derek Rogers, Stacey Rogers, and Herb Wright serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Butch Rogers, Paul "Dickie" Milton, Brian Nealey, and Jerry Millsaps.
The family will receive friends from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Saturday September 21st at the Logan Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Flat Branch Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Jerry Millsaps at 995 New Hope Rd. Ellijay, GA 30540 in memory of Sue.
