Brenda (Kirkland) Parks, age 79 of Ellijay, GA passed on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. Brenda was born February 25, 1943, in Ellijay, GA to her late parents Johnie and Dorothy Virginia (Corn) Kirkland. Brenda was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ellijay. Brenda graduated from Gilmer High School in 1961. Brenda was a devout Christian, enjoyed traveling with family, and loved to read her bible and be an encouragement to others. Brenda is preceded in death by her sister Glenda K. Bridges, and brother J.D. Kirkland. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Bill Parks of Ellijay, GA daughters and son in law, Shana Parks of Ellijay, GA, Sheree and Jason Hyde of Ellijay, GA, granddaughter Jaciana Hyde, sisters, Ginger Salle' of Canton, GA, Nanette and Ronald Knight of Ellijay, GA, Beverly and Tommy Prince, of Ellijay, GA, Trish Kirkland of Flowery Branch, GA, brothers, Jimmie Kirkland, San Francisco, CA, also several nieces and nephews survive. The family will receive friends Monday, April 25, 2022, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held Monday, April 25, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Moyers, Bro. Doug Hall, Rev. Scott Eaton, and officiating graveside Rev. John Bramlett . Derek Mackey, Mike Bridges, Tommy Prince, Chris Crump, John Bramlett, and Steven Hyde are serving as pallbearers.
