Brenda Lois (Newton) Gibson, age 71 of Chatsworth, GA passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023. Brenda was born June 17, 1951, to her late parents Ernest Lawrence and Grace Ellie Lois (James) Newton in Ellijay, GA. Brenda was a member of the Tails Creek Baptist Church and retired after over 28 years at Shaw Industries. Brenda is preceded in death by her brothers Stevie and Jerry Newton.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years James Gibson, Chatsworth, GA, daughter Tammy and Jimmy Bennett, Cohutta, GA, son Travis E. Corbin, Ellijay, GA, sister Yvonne Newton Land, Dalton, GA, sister-in-law Marie Wells, Ellijay, GA, grandchildren Brandy Corbin Jones, Blake M. Bennett, Amber I. Miles, great-grandchildren Samuel Jones, Mary Grace Jones, Brooklynn Bennett.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, April 30, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 1, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Reece, Rev. David Nicholson, and Rev. John Reece officiating. Jimmy Bennett, Blake Bennett, Dennis Jones, Andrew Miles, and Ron Sentell will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at the Flat Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
