Obituary

Mrs. Bonney Browne (LaCour) Brown, age 76 of Ellijay, GA passed on Friday May 7th, 2021 at the Magnolia Senior Living Center in Buford, GA. Mrs. Brown was born on January 13, 1945 to her late parents Elmo Clarence, Jr. and Carrie Bonney (Newell) LaCour in Baton Rouge, LA. She was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and continued her education by receiving a Master's degree in special education. Bonney's passion was teaching Sunday school at Trinity Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge and St. Teresa's Episcopal in Acworth, GA. She and her husband have been living in Ellijay the past 4 years and are members of the Hope Lutheran Church. Bonney is preceded in death by her brother, Elmo C. LaCour, III. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday May 19th, 2021 from the Hope Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Smedley officiating. Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband of 46 years, Charlie C. Brown of Ellijay, GA, daughter, Cynthia Brown of Louisiana, sister, Lindy LaCour Neal Denham of Magnolia, MS, several nieces and nephews also survive. The family is receiving friends at the Hope Lutheran Church from 9:30 until the service time at 11 on Wednesday May 19th. Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her memory. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.loganfuneralhome.com.
