Betty Jean Burgess Sanford, age 86 of Ellijay, GA passed on Monday, July 26, 2021. She was born August 23,1934 to her late parents John Harvey and Myrtle Louise (Starks) Burgess in Ellijay, GA. Betty was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Bob Robert C. Sanford, son Michael Sanford. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 30,2021 at 1:00pm at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Buchanan speaking. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at the funeral home. Survivors include sisters Johnny Ann and James Gaskill, Thomson, GA, Kathy Burgess and Rev. Jerry Banks, East Ellijay, GA, also several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers are being accepted.
