Obituary

Ms. Betty Rose Brown, age 94, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on May 29, 2026 at her home.

Ms. Betty Rose was born on April 15, 1932, in Alapha, Georgia, the daughter of the late Perlie E. Griffin and Dallas Rowe Griffin. She retired from Kraft Foods Company after 43 years of dedicated service as an executive secretary. Betty was a hard worker, self-directed, and a noble woman whose strength and determination were evident throughout her life.

She had been a faithful member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming, Georgia, since 1995.

Ms. Betty Rose was preceded in death by her husbands, Daniel Newton Brown, James McGrath, Jr., and William Ottis Moore; her son, James McGrath; and her siblings, Tera Morris and Margaret Avera.

She is survived by her children, Ottis L. Moore and his wife, Irene, and Mary Elizabeth “Lisa” McGrath; and daughter-in-law, Kathy McGrath; grandchildren, Katelyn Worley and her husband, Russel, Mason McGrath; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Worley, and Kodi Rose Worley; along with other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming, Georgia, with Father Diosmar officiating. Following the service, a meal will be held in the fellowship hall for family and friends.

Interment will follow at a later date at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Cherokee Humane Society in memory of Betty Rose and her beloved dogs, Honey and Scarlet. Betty Rose treasured animals throughout her life, and this would be a meaningful way to honor her memory.
