Obituary

Ben Anderson Holt, Sr., age 84, of Ellijay, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

Born on March 17, 1942, in Ellijay, Georgia, Ben was the son of the late Anderson Claude Holt and Gladys Louise (Logan) Holt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gyann Stover Holt; his brother, Edsel Holt; and his sons, Benji Holt (Ben Anderson Holt, Jr.), and Barrett Andrew Holt.

Ben is survived by his children: Beth Brandon (Gary), Shanna Aletha Holt, Brandon Asher Holt, Cherish Lynniel Roberts (Aaron), Anya Ellyssa Trulove (Chris), Karis Anay Hunter (Simon), Stephen Blake Holt, and Samuel Blaine Holt (Kiana).

He is also survived by his grandchildren: Lindsey Brooke Howlett (Andrew), Ragan Holt, Rebecca Erin Taylor (Zach), Garon James Brandon (Lindsey), Kaitlyn Elizabeth Brown (AJ), Ashlyn Lauren Carlton (Trevor), Collin Trey Roberts, Chael Ryan Trulove, Nazareth Solomon Hunter, Job Emmanuel Hunter, Hadassah Grace Hunter, and Dahlia Lynette Holt; 11 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Michael Holt (Vicky). Gyann’s Daughters; Krista Martin (Scott) and Britnee Minten (Shawn).

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Baciu, Rev. Steve Fields, and Rev. Wendell Stover officiating. The following gentlemen will be serving as pallbearers, Brandon Holt, Blake Holt, Blaine Holt, Gary Brandon, Aaron Roberts, and Simon Hunter. 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Logan Funeral Home.
