Austin Travis Holstein, age 42, of Ellijay, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025. He was born on September 1, 1982, in Atlanta, GA, to his parents Maxwell Joe and Sheryl Anne Evans Holstein. He earned a degree from North Metro Technical College and worked most recently at Gilmer Arts Association. Prior to that, Austin was the Operations Manager for FlexVisual, with a longtime career at Production Resource Group. He was a beloved part of the live event and audio-visual industry in Atlanta, GA, for almost twenty years, with extensive travel throughout the US. Austin also had an important role in the Ellijay arts community where he helped facilitate the Gilmer Arts Gallery and Playhouse, along with other local events.

Austin is survived by his parents Max and Sheryl Holstein, siblings William Holstein (Shawna), Jae Holstein (Ashley), and Angela McRae (Wayne), niece and nephew Carlie and Michael.

A celebration of life service will be held at the Gilmer Arts Playhouse (135 Dalton St., Ellijay) on Saturday, May 24th at 2:00pm.
