Mr. Arthel Glenn Davis, age 85, of the Tails Creek community in Ellijay, GA passed Wednesday morning, December 21st, 2022 at his residence.

Arthel was born in Gilmer County on May 16th, 1937 to his late parents, Arthur and Charlotte Smith Davis. He was of the Baptist faith and worked for 40 years at the Whitestone Imerys plant. Arthel loved his family, watching races, gardening, and fishing. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Dollie Pankey, Ollie Dugan and Oma Jean Wood, and brothers Benson, Homer and Lamon Davis.

Arthel is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mildred McArthur Davis of the home in Ellijay, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Davis and Jeff Hurd of Ellijay, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Misty Davis of Ellijay, GA; grandchildren and in-laws, Jessi and Brian Barton, Kirbi and Michael Smith, Alex Davis, and Justin and Jessica Hurd; great grandchildren, Kingston and Reign Hurd; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leonard and Lorene "Toot" Davis, James and Faye Davis, and Eugene and Carol Davis, all of Ellijay, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 6pm on Tuesday, December 27th, 2022 from the chapel of Logan Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Scott and Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Music and vocals will be by Wesley and Amy Banks. Pallbearers will be Michael Davis, Coy Pankey, Brondy Davis, Wade Davis, Kelly Davis, Jamie Davis, Truit Davis, J.W. Chastain and Sean Banks. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Davis, Ronnie Sentell, Bobby Pettit, and Grady Steadman. Graveside interment will follow at 1pm on Wednesday, December 28th, 2022 at the Dovers Chapel Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 4pm until 9pm on Monday, December 26th, 2022 and from 5pm until the service hour at 6pm on Tuesday, December 27th, 2022 at Logan Funeral Home and Chapel.
