Mrs. Eva Whitaker Thurman age 92 of the Whitepath Community, Ellijay, GA., passed from this life on Sunday, October 10th, 2010, she was a member of the Ellijay Church of Christ. Mrs. Thurman was born September 26th, 1918 to her late parents John Luther and Maybell Stanley Whitaker in Ellijay, GA. She is preceded in death by her husband William Clyde Thurman, sister Ruth Leatherwood, brothers Theodore, Adam, and Earl Whitaker. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Jack and Vernie Thurman, and Gene and Patsy Thurman all of Ellijay, GA.; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 12th, 2010 in the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Min. Butch Jones officiating, singing by the congregation. Graveside interment will follow at the Macedonia Church of Christ Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rodney Thurman, Jim Wilson, Jeff Thurman, Mark West, David Pritchett, Terry Pritchett, Michael Pritchett and D. J. Kendall. Family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 p.m., Monday, October 11th, at Logan Funeral Home.
