Mr. David Franklin Golden, age 75 of Ellijay, GA went to be with his Lord on Saturday July 3rd, 2010. Mr. Golden retired from the United States Army after 22 years of service to care for ailing family members. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching Braves baseball and listening to gospel and bluegrass music. He was born on August 19th, 1934 to his late parents, David Joseph and Georgia Miller Golden in Erwin, Tennessee. He is preceded in death by his sister and brother Billie Elliott and Jack Golden. Mr. Golden is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Beck Golden of Ellijay, GA; Daughters, Sherry Cagle and Terry Golden of Ellijay, GA; Son and Daughter-in-law, David and Charlene Golden of Marietta, GA; Grandchildren, Andrew Cagle, Jonathan Canup, Candice Cagle and Carlin Golden; Great Granddaughter, Cadence Jordan Canup; Brother Charles Golden. Several nieces and Nephews also survive. Military Memorial Services will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday July 7th, 2010 from the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with military rites performed by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Inurnment will following at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the East Cobb Baptist Church at 1940 Shallowford Road Marietta, GA 30062 in memory of Mr. Golden. The family will receive friends following the service on Wednesday at the Logan Funeral Home.
