Obituary

Age 92, of the Goose Island Community, Cherrylog, Georgia, passed away Thursday evening, March 7th, 2013, at the Blue Ridge Health Care Facility. Charles was of the Methodist faith, served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II, a graduate of the Flowery Branch High School Class of 1937, attended North Georgia College, and a retiree of the Georgia Department of Agriculture working his way from the bottom to an aspiring entomologist in Georgia. Born on September 24, 1920, to his late parents B. Ruston and Mary Smith Woodliff, in Flowery Branch, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his late wife, Ruth Rasbridge Woodliff. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Emmie and Mike Allmon of Cherrylog, Georgia; son Charles H. Woodliff, Jr. of Cornelia, Georgia; granddaughter Lauren Woodliff and her fiancee' Casey Jones of Pensacola, Florida; sister Mary Nell Woodliff Clark of Tucker, Georgia; several nieces and nephews. Graveside Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 11th, at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Alpharetta, Georgia, with Dr. Bob Leftwich officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 200 West Emery Street, Suite 3, Dalton, Georgia 30720.
